President's Message |
Welcome to
the STAR 483 Bangor, Maine
chapter! Our chapter was founded
in April 2010 and we have been
steadily growing since then. We
hold chapter meetings and rides
once a month throughout the year
and also organize additional
rides and events. Our members
come from all over Northern,
Central, and Eastern Maine and
ride a variety of motorcycles.
Come join
us for our next chapter meeting
on Saturday, July 10th.
We’ll meet at Clewley Farm
Restaurant (999 Main Road,
Eddington) at 9am and go on a
chapter ride directly after the
meeting. Come a little early to
have breakfast with members and
friends of the chapter.

Rides:
Chapter 483 loves to ride. You can plan on riding to many interesting locations, regional and International events, overnight trips; we never run out of ideas of where to go. Our 2nd Saturday of the month Chapter ride is open to all. As the days grow longer with day light savings time, we add a STAR members Sunday ride [March-October]. This does not include any additional activities and/or charity events that our chapter may participate in during the rest of the year. Check our calendar for start times and meeting point location.
Safety: Our number one goal is safety – both individually and within the group. As a family oriented association, we maintain a no drinking/no drugs policy. Our chapter rides in a staggered formation and utilizes standard hand signals.
People:
Chapter 483 members come from a diverse background, as do the motorcycles we ride. Our rides, membership meetings and events are open to all. The common thread we share is the love for the open road, and the many friends – new and old – gathered along the way.
Calendar: We are continuously updating our web site with new ride dates; meeting announcements and events, please check back often. Thank you for your interest and we will look forward to you joining us!
STAR recognizes safety as a first priority. The STAR community is a mix of riders with varied riding experiences. Chapter rides follow all DMV laws and limits, to keep everyone as safe as possible. This allows everyone to enjoy the ride and not have new riders feel overly stressed. STAR chapter rides do not include “tavern runs”, and consumption of alcoholic beverages on chapter rides is prohibited. We want to see you back safely for the next ride.
All brands of motorcycles are welcome. If you are looking for a family motorcycle association, with a lot of pride, spirit and camaraderie without the “attitude” you have found the right organization and chapter. nights group ride to Bucksport set a new record w/22 bikes and one
trike. Several were two up and Vic's side car rig had three! Check

Chapter 483 supports the STAR Touring mission statement. To pursue, promote and protect the interests of motorcyclists; to develop better and more enthusiastic relations between the general public, the media and the operators and riders of motorcycles; to encourage rider participation in events; to promote motorcycle safety and camaraderie among its members; to promote organized events; and in general, perform them in a lawful manner.
